Privacy Policy for the Kino App

This privacy policy describes how the Kino app ("the app") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use our services on mobile devices.

This policy is also available in Danish.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Authentication Data

We collect your email address and password when you log in. The information is sent encrypted over HTTPS and used solely to authenticate you with kino.dk. Afterwards, we receive a JWT token which is stored locally on your device.

2.2 Location Data

We ask for access to your location in order to show cinemas near you. Location data is processed exclusively on your device and is never stored on our servers. The distance to cinemas is calculated locally on the device.

2.3 User Preferences (Local)

Favourite cinemas are stored locally on your device. Your JWT token is also stored locally to keep you logged in.

3. Third-Party Services

3.1 Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to collect usage statistics. The following data is sent to Google:

Screen views (e.g. "Home", "Movies overview", "Trailer view")
User events (e.g. selecting a favourite cinema, viewing showtimes)
IDs and titles of movies and cinemas you interact with
User ID (after login)
Technical device and app information

3.2 Firebase Crashlytics

We use Firebase Crashlytics to monitor the app's stability. When errors occur, error messages, stack traces and standard technical device information are collected.

3.3 Cloudflare (OTA Updates)

We use Cloudflare Workers to deliver JavaScript updates via the Hot Updater service. This only sends app version and device information to check for updates.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and maintain app functionality
Show relevant cinemas near your location
Improve the app experience through anonymous statistics
Monitor app stability

We do not share your personal data with third parties for marketing or sale.

5. Local Information

The JWT token and favourite cinema IDs are only stored locally on your device in the app's storage. This information is not shared with our servers and is deleted when you log out.

6. Data Retention and Security

Account information (email address and user profile) is retained by kino.dk for as long as your account is active. Analytics data is retained by Google in accordance with the Firebase terms and the data retention setting in the Firebase console.

All traffic between the app and our servers takes place over encrypted HTTPS connections. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

As a user of the app, you have the following rights under the GDPR:

Right of access – you can request access to the personal data we process about you
Right to rectification – you can have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected
Right to erasure – you can have your personal data deleted
Right to data portability – you can have your information transferred to another service
Right to object – you can object to the processing of your personal data
Right to withdraw consent – at any time, with effect for the future
Right to lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.dk)

8. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children in this age group.

9. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be published here with an updated "Last updated" date.
